Talk about a complete shakeup of the Power Poll. For starters, Stone Bridge had been ranked number one for the past 13 weeks, and including the preseason. Their loss to Phoebus this past week sends them back two spots, putting in another Ashburn school in Broad Run.
The Spartans remain the lone unbeaten school in the entire Northern Virginia area, and for that, they jump into the number one slot.
Osbourn, the lone other area team who is still playing, takes our number two spot in the poll after beating previously unbeaten Varina.
In addition to Stone Bridge, the other area schools to lose in the state semi-finals were Oakton and Liberty. Their losses completely alter the top five of the Power Poll while the bottom five remains unchanged from last week.
1. BROAD RUN (13-0)

This Week: vs. Amherst County (at Liberty University)
Broad Run is just one win away from capturing their dream of a state championship. After defeating visiting Chancellor and keeping highly touted Dominique Wallace in check, the Spartans find themselves on the verge of doing something only two other Loudoun schools have done, and that's win a state title. They'll be heading down to Liberty University in Lynchburg where they'll be taking on the defending state champs in Amherst County.
2. OSBOURN (9-4)

Last Week: 47-28 win over Varina
This Week: vs. Oscar Smith (at Virginia Tech)
There has been no better story in the Northern Virginia area than the Osbourn Eagles. After starting out the year with a 3-4 record, they've reeled off six straight wins, including three straight playoff wins over undefeated teams. Last week, they beat formerly undefeated Varina 47-28, which puts them in the state title game against Oscar Smith, another unbeaten. Should Osbourn win this upcoming Saturday at Virginia Tech, it will be their second state title in three years.
3. STONE BRIDGE (13-1)

Last Week: 38-8 loss to Phoebus
This Week: N/A (Season Complete)
After spending 13 full weeks as our number one ranked team, the Stone Bridge Bulldogs took a fall from their top spot after losing to Phoebus 38-8. Stone Bridge, a team which had been ranked nationally by numerous publications, finds their season complete and unable to successfully defend their state title. The Bulldogs had defeated Phoebus last year in Ashburn where they went to then beat Potomac for their first-ever state title.
4. OAKTON (13-1)
Previous: 2
Last Week: 10-7 loss to Oscar Smith
This Week: N/A (Season Complete)
The Northern Region's other region champ, Oakton, who also went through the year undefeated, lost in the state semi-finals as well. The Cougars fell in the final quarter to Oscar Smith on a field goal, losing 10-7 and effectively ending their season. Oscar Smith will go on to play #2 Osbourn for the Division 6 state championship game. Oakton meanwhile ends their season with a Concorde District and Northern Region championship.
5. LIBERTY (10-3)

Last Week: 28-14 loss to Dinwiddie
This Week: N/A (Season Complete)
Another Northern Virginia area team to lose this past weekend were the Liberty Eagles. After winning the Division 5 Northwest Region final, the Eagles fell to Dinwiddie, which ends their season. After this season, the Eagles will move back down to the AA level, where they will become a member of the Northwestern District. Their brief two year stint in AAA ended with a combined 17-6 record, one playoff appearance and a region championship.
