WASHINGTON, D.C. - To end Thursday's round of contests for the Gonzaga D.C. Classic, the Chantilly Chargers took on the Mater Dei Monarchs from Santa Ana, California. The Monarchs came into the game against the Chargers ranked 9th in the nation according to USA Today, and were expected to oust the Chargers without any problems. That was not the case though, as the Chargers proved that they are the team to beat in Northern Virginia by giving the Monarchs a run for their money. It came down to the final possession of the game, and after trailing by 13 points at one point, the Monarchs came back and held on to prevail 70-67 over the Chargers.
