CENTREVILLE, VA - For new head coach Chris Haddock, he made it very clear he's not coming to Centreville to go below .500. He's coming to win. He's not willing to start the winning process in a couple of years or by next year, he wants to win now.
It's easier said than done, but if there's one person who can reverse this program's fortune, it's Haddock. After inheriting a Fairfax program that went a combined 2-18 from 2005-'06, Haddock transformed them into a playoff team by 2009.
In the case of Centreville, they've gone 4-16 in the past two years, but they're the only losing seasons the program has ever had. We'll say that again: in 20 years of existence, only twice has this program experienced a losing season. That stat says a lot about the football talent just lurking in the halls at this school and the enormous potential it holds. Remember, Centreville is responsible for one state title, three region titles and six district championships so there's quite a history here.
"I'm real excited to be named the new head football coach at Centreville High School," said Haddock. "Centreville has an incredibly proud tradition. They've been state champions, region champions and many-time district champions and my staff and I are looking forward to bringing that tradition back."
All it takes is the right person to take them back to glory. Is Haddock the one to do it? We'll have to wait and find out, but when out on our Training Camp All-Access Tour, we found there's reason to have hope.
