VIENNA, VA - Promising seems to be a key word when talking about Oakton. So many promising players return from a once-promising 2009 team that went just 5-6. So when considering what this team returns, we can once again say that things at Oakton look, well, promising.

"We had a lot of high expectations [last year]. We were ranked higher in the [Washington] Post than we ever have in the history of Oakton and our kids really felt the pressure to perform," said Oakton head coach Joe Thompson.

To be precise, Oakton was ranked third in the preseason by the Post, but things obviously went downhill from there. At 5-5, they did qualify for the playoffs, but by that time, Oakton was playing a whole host of underclassmen.
